Downtown Mural Tour

Downtown Harlingen is home to several beautiful murals. So if you like to look at beautiful art you’ll definitely be able to find some roaming around downtown. If you want to make sure you don’t miss a thing, there is a tour available as well. While you’re downtown, make sure to also check out some of the shops and maybe even grab lunch.

Catch a Movie at Cinemark 16 – The Palace

Sure, it’s just another movie theater, but Cinemark 16 in Harlingen has a few special features that make the experience more enjoyable. There is all stadium seating, RealD 3D, a lobby cafe that serves pizza, burgers and other made-to-order treats, and an arcade as well where you can spend some time hanging out before or after the movie.

Hilltop Gardens

Hilltop Gardens Farm is a tropical healing garden and organic farm. The Hilltop Gardens Farm has been around since 1939 and is one of the first Aloe farms in the country. The purpose of a healing garden is to make people who visit feel safe, comfortable, less stressed, and even invigorated.

D’Arte Centre

This is a co-op gallery that features several local artists’ work. This is a great place to visit if you enjoy either looking at or purchasing art. The D’Arte Centre also offers art classes for adults and children if you’re interested in improving your own art skills.

Gladys Porter Zoo

This zoo isn’t actually in Harlingen, but it’s only about 20 minutes away in Brownsville. The Gladys Porter Zoo is dedicated to the preservation of nature by educating people and conserving both the plants and animals located in the park.
